When the lamp is on, there is background noise from the Speaker, the light is not very bright but quite nice. The speaker volume is a little stronger than the maximum volume of a good mobile phone, just a little more voluminous sound and a little more bass. Remote control included with battery (which is amazing) but the battery is small
